Wadanohara and the great blue sea персонажи
Old (オルド) is one of the antagonists of Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. He is a humanoid shark and an inhabitant of the Sea of Death. He is the former familiar of Meikai and the parent to Samekichi and Sal.
Contents
Appearance
Old has messy black hair tied in a ponytail and a dorsal fin on his head. He has three large scars on his face over each of his eyes, two on the right eye forming a cross and upon his left a thick, vertical scar. His tail is also badly scarred, covered in nicks and scratches. He wears a long black coat over his shoulders and under that he has a gray dress shirt and a black tie. His pants and boots are also black.
When he was young, Old had worn a fleece turtleneck button-up jacket that had white fur lining, his ponytail was short and reached just below his shoulders. Instead of three scars around his eyes he only had one, upon his right. He greatly resembled his son, Samekichi.
Personality
Much of Old’s personality before the war between the sisters remains a mystery. In the past, he had a streak of cockiness, believing himself to be the better of Meikai’s familiars, fit to wield the Sacred Sword. Upon discovering that the responsibility would be entrusted to Tatsumiya instead, he became irrevocably wounded.
Deeply begrudged that Tatsumiya was given the responsibility, Old would come to loathe her and Meikai, leading to him to betray the two. Upon encountering Tatsumiya again on the field of battle, Old attacked her with an intense rage for the slight upon his honor.
After being sealed with Mikotsuhime for long, Old no longer holds any affection for any — not for his former comrades, his sons, or for the man he previously called Master. The only thing that remains is his desire to avenge himself by harming Tatsumiya, for the scars and the humiliating defeat that she gave him, a grudge that has remained since before he was first sealed.
Background
In the past, he was one of Meikai’s familiars, alongside Tatsumiya. One day, Meikai was handed the Sacred Sword — a sword immensely important to the Blue Sea Kingdom — by The Sea King, ruler of the kingdom. The Sea King tasked Meikai with a difficult conundrum; he would have to decide between the two of his familiars which was worthy of wielding the legendary blade. Having believed that he would reign superior and be chosen to hold the blade, Old became indignant upon the revelation that, instead of him, Tatsumiya would be chosen as wielder instead.
Engulfed with rage and jealousy, Old would end up defecting to Mikotsuhime’s side. He would later end up battling Tatsumiya, who would go on to leave him covered in his signature scars. Along with Mikotsuhime and other denizens of the Sea of Death, Old was sealed away by Meikai’s sacrifice.
Relationships
Meikai
Old was once Meikai’s familiar, before defecting from the Blue Sea and becoming part of the Sea of Death forces. Old had initially betrayed Meikai due to Meikai having passed down the Sacred Sword to Tatsumiya, inciting unbearable envy within him. This envy lead to his downfall, as Old betrayed Meikai and left him for the Sea of Death,
The feelings Old has for his former master is conflicting and strange. Upon encountering Tatsumiya and conversing with her, Old refers to Meikai in disdain. But despite his disdain, Old been shown to harbor unreciprocated romantic feelings to Meikai; Sheep has accused Meikai of seemingly «stealing» Old, suggesting that Old may have lingering affections for his former master.
Sal is Old’s eldest son, although they do not know of their familial relationship. He and his father bear a strong resemblance to each other along with similar reasons to have chosen to side with the Red Sea.
Samekichi
Samekichi is Old’s youngest son, although they do not know about their familial relationship. He and his father bear a strong resemblance to each other. The two have both been accused of being traitors to the Sea Kingdom. Tatsumiya makes this connection in the manga when thinking of Old and Samekichi’s striking resemblance and seemingly same fate.
Mikotsuhime
Old works under Mikotsuhime as one of her subordinates, he is regarded as one of the stronger denizens of the Sea of Death and is recognized in this high regard by the other residents.
Tatsumiya
The two were once familiars under Meikai, the great sorcerer. One day the responsibility of choosing the wielder of the Blue Sea Kingdom’s Sacred Sword was given to Meikai by The Sea King, with the sorcerer being given the choice between his familiars Old and Tatsumiya. The moment Tatsumiya was chosen her relationship with Old was permanently shattered, as he betrayed her and their master.
Upon being found in the field of battle after Old betrayed her and Meikai, Old viciously attacked her, for the grievances that she had inadvertently caused him. Without any other choice Tatsumiya was forced to retaliate, giving Old permanent scars around his eyes.
The two are now mortal enemies, willing to slay the other without any other thought. Old holds an unshakable vendetta for her, and desires to watch her suffer for the suffering he was given by her hands. Inversely, Tatsumiya refuses to forgive him for his betrayal, holding no affection for him — partially due to his part in indirectly causing Meikai’s disappearance.
Sheep
Sheep is one of the Old’s comrades in the Sea of Death, he has been shown feeling confused in their presence because of how touchy the ammonite was getting; Sheep on the other had shows to have an interest in the shark, this could be further proven by the fact that Old is the only thing listed in the Likes of their bio in the Bonus Room. They have been shown in artwork together.
Squid
Squid is one of Old’s comrades in the Sea of Death; they have been drawn in artwork together along with Sheep.
Minami
Minami is Old’s grandson. The two have never met. However, Minami apparently gets his height from him.
Namikaze
Namikaze was somehow involved with Old, winding up pregnant by him with Syakesan and Samekichi. The exact details of their relationship is unknown.
Idate
In-game, Idate interferes with Old’s combat with Tatsumiya; it doesn’t take too long for the shark to get beaten by the orca. Idate had described Old to be the »’wife-beater»’ type and his distaste in «those type of guys,» not to mention the orca’s interest in beating up sharks is likely his motivation to proceed to attack Old (and succeeding). There is artwork of Idate holding a beaten up Old who is angry. Idate is impressed that, unlike Samekichi, Old is able to get back up from being beaten and still have energy to fight; in spite of this, their combat does not continue as Idate follows Wadanohara’s request to take Tatsumiya somewhere safe.

Upon revealing his true motives, the white in his eyes turns black and blood begins to drip from both eyes. He also grows four arm-like limbs from below his fins.
In his humanoid form, Sal appears remarkably similar to Samekichi. His white hair is slightly long and messy and his dorsal fin protrudes from the top of his head. He wears a white suit accented with light gray. Six buttons are visible along the front of his suit. His shirt is dark gray and his tie is black. He also wears white pants, black shoes and black gloves.
Before he was corrupted, he had blue eyes. In the Blue Sea alternative universe he wears a gray turtleneck sweater, a dark brown jacket and light brown pants.
Personality
At the beginning of the game, he seems to have an innocent, very kind, and warm personality. However, after he reveals his position as the ambassador of the Sea of Death, his true nature is exposed. He is manipulative, sadomasochist, and a sore loser when things don’t go his way. He has a deep, twisted love for Wadanohara, paralleling his brother’s deep and honest love for her. He seems to be quite jealous of Samekichi, saying things like «Is he that good to you?» and getting visibly shaken after Wadanohara mentions Samekichi.
Background
Syakesan was once a normal citizen of the Blue Sea, before the Sea of Death corrupted him in his youth. As seen in one of Deep Sea Prisoner’s omakes, Sal was corrupted sometime during his period of late adolescence. As a child, he wore matching outfits with his younger twin brother, Samekichi.
Relationships
Samekichi
Samekichi is Sal’s younger twin brother. Although they are brothers, they do not view each other as brothers; their relationship is that of enemies, as Samekichi hates him for the curse he placed upon Wadanohara. Due to their rocky past, the cursing of Wadanohara, and the fact that they both love Wadanohara, they hold no positive feelings for each other.
Samekichi dislikes Sal to the degree that he is willing to kill him, if only for the sake of Wadanohara. Though the brothers’ relationship is certainly unhealthy and unpleasant on both sides, Samekichi is shown to be more willing to attempt reconciliation than Sal is.
In the past, it can be seen that Sal and Samekichi may have been quite close as brothers when they were still young children. In two images, Sal and Samekichi can be seen wearing matching outfits, but as the image progresses story-wise; the two brothers can be seen gradually facing away from each other.
Old is Sal’s father. Like the rest of the inhabitants of the sea, Sal doesn’t know that Old is his father.
Wadanohara
Wadanohara is Sal’s love interest, though one-sided. His love for her is deep, twisted, and conflicting; while he «loves» Wadanohara, he is willing to sexually assault her, influence her death, stab her, and curse her with magic.
