He is actually the Super High School Hitman. He was working, with the protagonist being his target, but got involved in a killing game. He is able of performing all kinds of murder tricks perfectly. He also use this knowledge to work as a mystery novelist. His name is fake and is his real name is Zen Katagiri. (His e-Handbook has his real name).

Fujimori’s bad luck talent affects the people around him, so the chain of accidents on the last few days (a plane crash, a terrotist incident, etc) was decided to be very likely a result of Fujimori’s bad luck and the government, who fears the rebirth of despair, secretly ordered his erasure. It’s true that a lot of incidents happen in the city Fujimori lives, but they are actually all secretly directed by the Remnants of Despair and the mastermind Tsuchiya, completely unrelated to his talent. After Yodogawa’s identity is exposed in chapter 4

Presents herself as having a cruel personality. Looks like an enemy during the early stages.
She is actually the Super High School Level Agent (Spy). Got involved in the killing game while pursuing the hitman.

Reason to investigate Yodogawa:
A request for a certain foreign organization (she is operating as a spy overseas).
A certain hitman was a regarded as dangerous by other country for his ability to create perfect murders (Yodogawa takes request overseas too) and they got the information that Yodogawa is actually the Super High School Level Hitman, so she was dispatched to confirm the intel’s authencity.
If he is the hitman in question, she has the duty to capture him alive and deliver him to the country.
In order not to expose her backstory, Itsuka acts like she is quite cold and cruel (she claims to have no memories doing the early stages for the same reason), but she is completely faithful to the organization she belongs to and lives according to their creed of “Do not cause unnecessary murders, only evil should be exterminated”, so she hates the killing games more than anyone else (you can’t tell from her expressions).
She doesn’t talk much even on the Trials, but when she does she is assertive since the early stages and adds the snarky commentary to it.

5, Yodogawa’s true identity is disclosed and she takes his place as Fujimori’s main supporter (Yodagawa and Itsuki’s enemy/ally roles switch)
